I don't think people have lost interest (I certainly haven't). It's  
just that Gaspard came up with a good suggestion to test some of these  
ideas in practical implementations. I think this is a good idea, since  
we will surely find problems with the protocol(s) as we test them in  
practice. I don't see a problem with 2-3 similar protocols evolving in  
parallel so long as we keep the lines of communication open (sic) and  
ultimately converge on one of them.

Agreed. We're not talking about a massively complex extension to OSC  
here.
